A performance project developed by Russell Milledge, Distance Between Worlds was assisted by Arts Queensland in 1994, in search of new contexts for the landscape in art. This project sought to redefine parameters of practice through a series of site specific performances devised through investigating the environment, object and the body, in terms of texture and resonance. The creative development team were Russell Milledge, Sydney based sound sculptor Rik Rue and Brisbane based cinamatographer Randall Wood, with Leah Grycewicz, Phil Bayly and others. Sites visited include: Chillagoe, 250km West of Cairns; WWII oil Tank, Cairns; Petford and Emerald Creek.
