Bonemap will be negotiating with organisations and venues in Singapore, Tokyo, Great Britian, Croatia and Australia during 2001 for future engagements. Also maintaining and developing networks in the Pacific.

Bonemap has through the development of 'the wild edge' engaged in collaborative processes within a core group of artists. This has extended the discrete artform practices of each principal artist. Evaluation of these processes has revealed the need for adoption of the role of Director or similar to facilitate transitional components and continuity. The principal artists of Bonemap are Rebecca Youdell and Russell Milledge, forming an administrative and business development partnership. This legitimisation is due to the introduction of 'The New Tax System' in Australia and a commitment from these two artists for long term inquiry and strategic planning for Bonemap. The engaged artists for Bonemap 'the wild edge' are Glen O'Malley, Michael Whiticker, Paul Lawrence, Rebecca Youdell and Russell Milledge. Although perceptions of professionalism differed slightly amongst the group there was a general consensus in the process. There was also a general pull towards the performance presentations being the defining ‘product’ of the collaboration, partly due to its real time based manifestations. This became slightly contentious because as much or more time and energy was placed into the other media outcomes. There was never enough rehearsal time, and multi-tasking roles extended the patience and management, of the performance environment.

Bonemap seeks to place significant work into various artform arenas, particularly film and/or multimedia festivals, dance theatre and art galleries. Strong networks are being developed and maintained to ensure awareness of forthcoming opportunities and professional development potential. Differences in requirements for principal artform areas are negotiated through a collective knowledge and understanding with many steep learning curves. The professional standing of each artist engaged has allowed for validation within discrete artform distinctions.
