Russell Milledge is a creative producer whose practice is motivated through interdisciplinary and intercultural collaborations. Through an ecological approach he has consistently sought engagement within interrelationships of both environments and communities of practice. This has included significant lengths of time within both urban and remote contexts and with new media, visual arts and performance practice. Russell has received awards across the fields of performing arts, new media and visual arts. Including the first Asialink interdisciplinary residency, a Silicon Studios Training Centre Scholarship in 3D animation, ANAT Summer school in Multimedia, Time_Place_Space 1 Interdisciplinary Residency and awards from The Australia Council for the Arts, Lee Foundation, Arts Queensland, and a number of regional councils. As a principal and collaborating artist Russell has contributed to many projects including presentations at arts festivals nationally and internationally as well as many site-specific and media based projects and partnerships. Russell’s visual art practice is represented in the collections of The Queensland Art Gallery and Cairns Regional Gallery amongst others.

Choreographer and performer Rebecca Youdell has toured and performed work in the USA, UK, Scandinavia, Asia and Europe and received numerous awards both in Australia and overseas. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Rebecca studied movement in Australia, USA and UK attending the Royal Ballet School in London, and working with the Royal Swedish Ballet Company in Stockholm. Rebecca has diversified her practice to integrate media through collaborations with the Bureau of Meteorology and the use of medical diagnostic imaging technology, x-ray and ultrasound. Performance and movement language with/for the camera through video and photography. Multimedia web and sound based works linked with an understanding of media manipulation. A fellowship at The Australian Choreographic Centre; ANAT’s Alchemy workshop; the first Asialink interdisciplinary residency hosted in Singapore (2001); TPS_01 (2002); and several projects from 1996 – 2002 are archived on <bonemap.com> + <www.kickarts.org.au>. The Australian-American Clocked Out Duo use traditional piano, percussion and voice with a wild array of found objects, sculptures and modified electro-acoustic sound sources to create carefully designed sonic, visual and theatrical experiences. Clocked Out Duo explores new styles and art forms, and engages in cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural exchanges with Australian and international musicians and artists. Clocked Out Duo has performs in festival throughout the US, Europe, Australia and China in experimental and improvised music and dance events. Artists in Residence - Sichuan Conservatory of Music and Sichuan University, Chengdu, China, the Centre for Research in the Computing Arts in San Diego, Stanford University, and the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts, Perth. Collaborations - Chinese composer Zou Xianping and choreographer Zhang Ping in the massive ‘Sichuan Fantasy’ fused folk, street, and classical traditions with experimental music, dance and multi-media (2001-02). Investigations into a miniature sound world of toy instruments created "Felaminikuti" and the "Clocked Out Sing-along" (2001). Australian artists Sarah Pirrie (Other Planes) and Rosemary Joy (Veronique) led to evocative unions of sight and sound, fashion and performance (2000). Eclectic pianist-composer Erik Griswold embraces experimental, jazz and pop traditions, multi-media and cross-cultural collaborations to create works of striking originality. Often employing prepared and toy pianos, he performs as a soloist, with his ensembles Clocked Out Duo and bluepoles quartet, and with En Rusk quintet and the Intergalactic Contemporary Ensemble. Since the early 90s Erik’s increasing interest in collaborative works involves innovative combinations of sound sculpture, music, text and installation. Erik holds a PhD in Music (University of California, San Diego).

V a n e s s a T o m l i n s o n
Vanessa contributes to the fields of solo percussion, contemporary chamber music, improvisation and performance art. Working closely with European composers and commissioning numerous works from emerging Australian and American composers, Vanessa frequently performs with contemporary chamber and improvisation ensembles including Australian Art Orchestra, Elision, and Intergalactic Contemporary Ensemble. She is a founding member of “red fish blue fish”, Playing Fields, and Clocked Out Duo. Vanessa studied at the University of Adelaide, the Hochschule fir Musik, Freiburg and has a Doctorate (University of California, San Diego) has directed award-winning musico-theatrical productions, organized and curated influential concert series and events. Vanessa is the Head of Percussion at the Queensland Conservatorium in Brisbane.
