Interdisciplinary and intercultural collaboration and exchange has been a focus of his creative practice for two decades. Having received awards across the fields of performing arts, new media and visual arts, including the first Asialink interdisciplinary residency, art-built-in commissions and a number of grant awards from national, state and local governments and foundations. As a principal artist he has contributed to presentations at: Tokyo Next Wave, Experimentica Wales UK, New Criteria Singapore, the Adelaide Fringe and Adelaide Festival, The Performance Space Sydney, On Edge Media & Performance Cairns. His visual art practice is represented in the collections of The Queensland Art Gallery, Cairns Regional Gallery and KickArts Contemporary Arts amongst others. Russell has a Masters of Fine Arts from Queensland University of Technology 2003, he is a Founder' past Chairperson and previous Deputy Director at KickArts from 2004-08. He is co-director of Bonemap and lectures in media arts at the James Cook University School of Creative Arts.

Rebecca Youdell

Rebecca Youdell is a choreographer and performer working via site-specific interdisciplinary collaborations involving multimedia, installation, performance and intercultural exchange. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Rebecca studied movement in Australia, USA and UK attending the Royal Ballet School in London, and working with the Royal Swedish Ballet Company in Stockholm.  She has a BFA (Dance) - cum laude high honours from Butler University (USA) 1992, and an MA (Visual/Performing Arts) from Charles Sturt University (Aus) 1998. Rebecca has toured and performed work in the USA, UK, Scandinavia, Asia and Europe and received numerous awards both in Australia and overseas. Rebecca has diversified her practice to integrate media through collaborations with the Bureau of Meteorology and the use of medical diagnostic imaging technology, x-ray and ultrasound. Rebecca’s focus on performance and movement language with/for the camera through video and photography sees her involved in screen and sound based works, live art and temporal media. Fellowship at The Australian Choreographic Centre; ANAT’s ‘Alchemy’ workshop; the first Asialink interdisciplinary residency hosted in Singapore in 2001; ‘Time_Place_Space 1 & 2’.
